Pather & Pather Attorneys Inc. is proud to announce our formal appointment to the Discovery Health Road Accident Fund (RAF) Claims Recovery Panel, with effect from 1 January 2026.
This appointment is specific and targeted. Our firm has been appointed as a Preferred Firm of Attorneys to act on behalf of Discovery Health (Pty) Ltd in the KwaZulu-Natal region, with a defined mandate focused exclusively on the recovery of past and future medical expenses from the Road Accident Fund arising from motor vehicle accidents.
Our role includes:
- Acting as attorneys of record in RAF claims involving Discovery Health members and dependants;
- Prosecuting claims to recover past medical expenses paid by Discovery Health;
- Managing and enforcing RAF undertakings in respect of future medical expenses;
- Ensuring strict compliance with the RAF Act, Discovery Health service levels, and best industry practice;
- Providing structured reporting, financial accountability, and regulatory compliance in line with Discovery Health’s governance standards.
Importantly, this appointment is distinct from Discovery’s other legal panels and does not relate to general litigation, commercial matters, or broader RAF personal injury mandates.
It is a specialist recovery function, requiring dedicated expertise in RAF litigation, medical expense recovery, and statutory compliance – areas in which our firm has a long-standing and proven track record.
